![]() Since GX provides a customizable theme with various color options, there’s so much you can do in terms of the interface.Īdditionally, the web browser easily integrates with third-party applications like Twitch, Discord, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger, among other apps. The moment you open the application, you will be drawn into the world of games. ![]() Opera GX is based on Chromium and is designed to provide users with an enhanced gaming experience. Unlike RDP, you'll see the same thing that's on the computer's screen, so if you need to leave a workstation logged in when you disconnect, that's possible (hint: with UltraVNC viewer, press Scroll Lock locally to send all keyboard input to the remote side in my experience, TightVNC server works better than UltraVNC server, but UltraVNC's viewer is better since they're both VNC, you can combine them).Users who download Opera GX will be happy to note that the application is fast, user-friendly, and feature-rich. ![]() If you're all on the same network, UltraVNC or TightVNC are an option – install the service on your endpoints, then connect with the viewer directly to the computer's IP. RustDesk is the most similar to TeamViewer completely free, and you can host your own server (which mostly just functions to connect client and server together, but normally doesn't pass the traffic). RDP is built-in to Windows, the only downside is that when you're logged in remotely, the computer can't be used locally (also computer remains locked when you disconnect). 2 mousclicks too much and I'm gone somewhere else haha. As i've responded in a reply.there are so many good ones to get so I just pick the one that works the quickest out of the box. I settled on nomachine because of the automatic detection of computers on the network and win and mac support. I've tried Anyviewer, nomaschine, tightvnc and read up about some others. A steady connection to about 12 laptops from 3-4 laptops in a directors booth with the possibility of connecting through a code with a possibility to remember/save the connections that I made will do just fine.Īnyone got a suggestion for a well functioning, really basic and cheaper alternative to Teamviewer/Anydesk?Įdit: Thank you guys, it's been a couple of days before I could respond. I don't need any bells and whistles since I'm not offering remote support, I just need basic control of my own laptops. It seems the ones I tried all need a different host and client app(splashtop), need logging in from a browser (google, screenconnect), need to create a secured token per session (screenconnect), or shortkeys can't be used (google). What I like about Teamviewer and Anydesk is that I download 1 app that I can connect from and to. Now I've tried Splashtop and Screenconnect and Google Remote all to my frustration. The purpose is to control different laptops in a congress centre and all I need is to be able to control the OS. I've been trying out different remote softwares to use instead of teamviewer/anydesk.
